Vaping has been gaining attraction and popularity from all over the world since its inception. Known to be healthier than traditional smoking, it has surely helped a lot of people to make the shift to a healthy lifestyle. Vaping is not limited to the use of flavoured e-liquids or nicotine but also has quite an expanded choice in the cannabis world.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has found its usage in everything, and the UK market is ever-expanding, and we can see cannabinoids in chocolates and drinks and even in clothing and pillows, to name a few! Impressive, isn't it?

As CBD finds its way into most products that we use, the most popular ones are still CBD oil and CBD E-liquid.

And if you're confused between the two, this article is for you.

CBD Consumption

CBD-Vape-pen

It is very common to only allow the most beneficial part of cannabis to enter your body.

Many people like to consume cannabidiol with the help of tinctures and oil, which can be then mixed with any edible and hidden in a capsule. Other people like to consume it sublingually (drops under the tongue) which is popularly done with tinctures. On the other hand, vaping CBD is one of the most popular and convenient ways to let the good compound enter and interact with your body.

CBD oil and CBD E-juice are both listed when it comes to vaping with Cannabidiol. But there is a difference between the two, and unless you want to destroy your vaporizer, you must recognize it.

Let's get started on what's the difference between CBD oil and CBD E-liquid?

CBD Oil

CBD Oil is made from the CBD extract of the cannabis plant which is isolated with the help of CO2.

When the CBD molecules are separated from other cannabinoids and terpenes, it is suspended in a carrier oil like olive oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, or MCT oil.

The pure, distilled form of CBD along with the carrier oil makes it an ingestible form of cannabinoid which can be consumed sublingually (under the tongue) or added to a meal.

But, can you vape CBD oils?

cbd-oil

The short answer is No. You shouldn't even attempt to vape CBD oil unless you want to destroy your vape pen and be sick for the entire day. Vaping CBD oil is harmful because the vegetable oil that is mixed with the CBD extract is made up of triglycerides which contains three fatty acids each. Burning or heating them produces a dangerous byproduct that would not be ideal to inhale.

The reason for using vegetable oil is because they are easily absorbed and digested by your body. However, they should not be vaped in any case.

CBD E-liquid

If you are looking to vape with CBD, you will have to get a specially made product known as CBD Vape oil or CBD E-liquid. The CBD oil that we discussed previously is made from vegetable oil that is not safe to consume. Moreover, the oil is too thick to be used in a vape pen which can end up severely damaging the device.

CBD E-liquid is made vape-friendly by removing the fatty acids from the triglycerides found in vegetable oil. The resultant is a sugary backbone called glycerol(VG). You may have noticed the acronym "VG" is many vape liquids, which stands for vegetable glycerin. This is popularly used to make your vaping experience more enjoyable and worthwhile.

CBD Vape juice or E-liquid can be made using three ingredients -

  • PEG( Polyethylene Glycol) or PG (Propylene Glycol)
  • VG (Vegetable Glycerine)
  • MCT Oil

PEG or PG are used in cheap CBD Vape oils which can be a bit dangerous to your health. Since the product contains glycol molecules, it can convert into carcinogens when heated. Make sure you look out for such compounds when purchasing.

VG (Vegetable Glycerine) as discussed before is one of the safe alternatives to PG. You can easily vape large clouds of vapour using this compound and have safe vaping experience.

MCT Oil is considerably new when compared to other compounds, but it is swiftly climbing the ladder to popularity. Extracted from coconuts, it is a colourless solution that acts as a thinning agent for the CBD oil. MCT oil is one of the fastest ways to administer CBD throughout the body, and is completely natural.

Why should you Vape CBD?

  • Higher Bioavailability

Vaping CBD is popular due to its higher bioavailability. Bioavailability refers to the amount of substance that is allowed to enter the bloodstream and work its magic after consumption. This means that 100% of what you consume, does not enter the bloodstream.

If a way of consumption has higher bioavailability, this means more of the substance is delivered to the body.

If we compare vaping CBD to other forms of consumption, there is quite a large gap in bioavailability. For example, if you consume CBD with capsules and edibles, the bioavailability for oral consumption is around 4-20%.

Similarly, if you consume it sublingually, the bioavailability varies between 25-35%. On the other hand, vaping CBD ensures that up to 56% of the compound enters the bloodstream. This means you need a lower amount of CBD to feel the same effect than what you would need when consuming in any other way.

Convenient than any other

People indeed enjoy vaping more than they would enjoy consuming CBD in any other way. This is also because vaping is considerably more convenient and can be used on the go without any hassle. Your vape pen can be as concealable as a small cigarette shaped item and you can carry it anywhere.

You can also get pre-filled cartridges and can free yourself from the world of loading the vape. In any case, vaping CBD oil is one of the most convenient and hassle-free ways to take cannabidiol.

Precise Dosing

When it comes to consumption for medical benefits, you have to vary the dose that you're consuming. You wouldn't take three capsules when your doctor recommended two; similarly, if the recommended dosage is 25mg, it is advised not to wander out of the threshold.

If you take CBD in any other way, it is not very clear in terms of dosage. However, with CBD E-liquid, you get an accurate amount of CBD content with each bottle. You can calculate how much CBD is present in each mL with the total amount of CBD and the bottle measurement.

Faster Effects

Consuming CBD edibles leads to a delayed onset as the compound has to go through the digestive system to show its effects. It can take around an hour or so to feel the complete effect of the CBD. If you're aiming for instant relief, edibles are not the ideal solution.

Similarly, tinctures, though consumed sublingually, have to go through the capillaries gland to reach the bloodstream. This causes a delay of almost 20 minutes before the effect starts showing.

Vaping CBD has the quickest onset of effects when compared to any other consumption method. As soon as you inhale, the CBD enters the bloodstream through the lungs, allowing you to feel the effects instantly.
