How to Hide the Smell of Weed after Smoking?
How to Hide the Smell of Weed after Smoking?
Let's face the truth with our red eyes - cannabis can stink. Of course, the earthy, skunky smell of weed is pretty aromatic to the potheads who take a single whiff of the green buds and follow it around like the rats followed Pied Piper. However, those who are not well-acquainted with the green buds might find it to be very repulsive. And it's not just about pleasing every passerby, but not every stoner likes to display their bloodshot red eyes and the accompanying smell to the prying eyes that are probably judging them for embracing nature.
To all the pot lovers who hate going home smelling like a ball of weed, we have the solution for you. In this article, I will be taking you through the steps on how to hide the smell of weed effectively.
So get your favourite strains out, and roll a blunt, we are talking big stuff today!
How to hide the smell of weed?
I will be taking you through the different points, explaining what needs to be done and how so you are never left in an unexpected situation that gives your secret away. I got your back, Homie!
1. Breath Stinks are a big NO!
Let's be real here, cannabis or not, nobody likes a stinky tonsil. It's a major turn off for anyone I know, and more so when you cannot do anything about it. So you just stand and bear the patience test with integrity. However, there is something worse than tolerating bad breath, and that is having bad breath.
Whether you're coming down for breakfast after ripping a bong in the bathroom or are going for a meeting after a joint session with your roommate, it is never a welcomed sign anywhere. No matter what flavours you experienced while inhaling the goodness of the green herbs, the exhale part never brings it back.
There are many ways in which you can fight the stinky odour, starting from mouth fresheners, chewing gums, mints, and much more, you have everything you need to make your breath as fresh as the air in the mountains. Moreover, if you don't have these accessories, you can always just brush your teeth. I mean that is always convenient, right?
2. Smelly Hands, Smelly Hands, what have you been smoking?
Moving on from the world of stinky breath, we arrive at stinky hands. Every smoker in the world knows that the smell from hands is stubborn and such a blatant giveaway, especially when you have concealed everything else.
And if you're an enthusiastic roller who likes to use the craft of their fingers to create a masterpiece, there is the addition of having hulk-like green fingertips. Unless you're planning on snapping the fingers like Thor, let's take a look at some solution.
Amidst the growing fear of the ongoing Pandemic, I found a brilliant solution for my green fingers. Sanitisers work wonders to remove the evidence that your hands have toiled to break apart and crush the buds. They are even better on-the-go solutions, whether you are in a car, on a trip, at home, or even in your office. And I have a feeling that sanitisers are going to last a while in our life.
The second way to remove the evidence is to use a very common product - the Lotion. Whether you call it a moisturizer, or simply a cream, a fragrant lotion will effortlessly conceal the smell of weed, and you will no longer be too scared to greet your parents at the door. They also work wonders with the Sanitisers, since the alcohol in them tends to dry your hands, giving you the ashiest mitts possible.
Lather on Boys & Girls, and turn those waves into handshakes.

3. Clothes & Smell
You have the fresh minty breath and lavender smelling hands, but if your shirt smells like you just rolled in a pile of marijuana, what's the point really?
Taking it the ancient way, you can wear a jacket or a hoodie to mask the smell. Wait, let me explain.
In the '90s, when smoking cigars was the fashion statement, this was a life hack employed by many men in hats and love for smoke. Of course, cigars also emanate, and you don't want to end up arriving at the golf practice smelling of tobacco. You can use an alternative piece of clothing like a jacket as a bait which will capture the smell of weed, and the fresh, crisp shirt underneath won't be affected much. Of course, this does not negate the aromatic fragrance of your precious cannabis 100% person, but hey, something better than nothing.
The other way is to spray your way away from the smell of weed. I think this is one of the first answers you envision to the question of how to hide the smell of weed.
Cologne, Body Mists, or Body Spray are everywhere. If you ever forget to bring it with yourself in the car, you can easily buy it from a nearby store. Perfect solution, isn't it?
My next solution might not be the greatest one, but hey, sometimes the obvious ones are not evident for many. Anyway, so just take a shower after your smoking session, and nobody would know you're flying on the highest cloud possible. And yes, I know nobody wants to kill their high by taking a shower after smoking a dope batch of strain, but you can always shower later. Alternatively, you can also use facial cleansing pads or wet wipes.
Depends on how discreet you want to be and what's at stake once you get caught.
Weight it out and then find the energy to splash a bucket of water!
4. Get it out of your Hair
If you like your hair over your shoulder or have a bunch of beautiful dreadlocks that are to die for, I am sorry to break the news to you, but you might want to flaunt them less while smoking. As with clothes, your hair also captures the smell of weed, only to give it away when you're meeting someone important, and they cringe their nose.
The obvious solution would be to wash your hair, but you cannot do that every time you smoke up. The other alternative is to use a dry shampoo or a spray that might fight the smell of cannabis.
I would suggest tying your hair, or covering it with a cap or hat to completely keep it away from the blazing bowl or joint. It's even safer!
5. Making a Sploof
An innovation from the smoker's club, using a sploof is more of a solution to how to hide the smell of weed while smoking, rather than after smoking. But I am pretty sure if you mask the smell while smoking, there will be less smell after smoking.
Here's how you can make a sploof or a doob tube; a complete and effortless DIY session for a pleasant smoking session.
To make this, you would need a paper towel/toilet paper roll and dryer sheets. If you don't have dryer sheets, you can simply use a light fabric soaked in Febreze.
Once you have created the sploof, simply exhale your weed through the scented dryer sheet/fabric so that the smell of weed is turned into the smell of fresh laundry.
If you enter a homie's house that is always smelling of fresh laundry, you now know why.

Extra Tips for a Discreet Smoking Session
1. Edibles & Vape
If we are on the topic of how to hide the smell of weed, the best way to get high is to convert into an edible lover. I know that it might not be the same as taking a huge puff and watching the swirling smoke play in the air, but edibles are more potent, tasty, and hit you for long. What a tempting thing!
And if you're keen on having the smoke alive in your life, you can always opt for vaporizers, that are very discreet, portable, and smell much less than your general joint or bong. Either way, you're still getting the dopeness of cannabis!
2. More Ventilation, Less Hotboxing
It's tempting to have a car full of smoke, while you're enjoying the high'ness of the green buds. But then hotboxing comes with its own set of cons like it will be weeks before your car starts to smell normal. If the smoke seeps into the seat covers, you'd have to go for a complete deep cleaning session. Similarly, smoking in closed chambers might be fun, but that will also leave a strong proof of smell behind. And that's what we are avoiding here.
Make sure you're toking in a ventilated room, with enough fans and windows to drown the blaring presence of the weed smell.
