[REVIEW] Pax 2 Vaporizer: How to Use & Clean Your Pax 2?
The vape market has been expanding its horizons ever since the devices made a debut in the smoking/vapour world. Initially introduced as an alternative to cigarettes, the vaporizers caught on with the demand of the tokers, and today have the largest number of fans all across the world. Whether you are a person more inclined towards desktop vaporizers, or like the smooth toke of a compact one, there are many types to cater to all.
My vape journey started a few years ago when I was exploring a new device at one of my homies places. That one smoking session was enough to get me hooked onto these little baddies, and since then, portable vapes have been my OG accessory. When the original Pax vaporizer made its appearance, it took the vape market by storm. However, the Pax Vapour brand introduced a better and newer version of the vape with much-needed upgrades. In this article, we will be discussing the Pax 2 review, including its maintenance, cleaning, usage, battery life, vapour quality, and much more.
Let's get started!
Introduction to the Pax 2 Vaporizer
A product of Pax Vapour, the Pax 2 Vaporizer is second in line, with the OG Pax Vape being the first in line.. The second-generation Pax 2 vaporizer is a compact, durable, reliable and portable vaporizer in the vape town. It was launched in 2015 but quickly rose to the favourite list of every vaper.
We will be discussing the Pax 2 Review in detail here.
What is in the Box?
- PAX 2 Vaporizer
- Charging Dock
- USB Cable
- Cleaning Kit
- Two Mouthpieces
Size and Portability
Everybody likes a discreet vaporizer that slides in the pocket like nothing's there. Pax 2 made this possible with their less than 4 inches height and a 1.2 inch wide durable body. It's like, really small. When it comes to discretion, it takes away the award.
Its compactness does not compress the oven, and the small device can hold around a third of a gram, which translates to 15-25 draws. It also weighs extremely light, almost 8-10g lighter than the original Pax. The inconspicuous gadget look blends it with everyday things, and you can easily place it out on a table or surrounding it without drawing much attention to it.

Mouthpiece Option - Pax 2 Review
The Pax 2 Vaporizer efficiently comes with two silicone mouthpiece inserts, which can be pushed into place on top. One of the mouthpieces is the flat one that is in line with the original Pax vaporizer. However, the other one is a little raised one, which makes toking very convenient. I personally liked the raised mouthpiece better, since it provided an easier flow of vapour.
The design of the mouthpiece makes it very convenient to clean as there are no clicking components in the top to gunk up. The mouthpiece is also an improvement from the previous one since the retractable mouthpiece was a ground for issues.
Vapour Quality & Draw Resistance - Pax 2 Performance Review
The Vapour Quality of Pax 2 is one of the main reasons why people love this mini vape so much. In my experience, the vape worked tremendously well and the draws were easy and enjoyable. You could actually taste the complete flavour with a decent amount of vapour; for all the clouds lovers. To keep the performance new-like, it is important to regularly clean the oven, avoiding any build-up or gunk to settle in there.
The vapour production is smooth, comfortable, and better than the previous model. For its small size and conduction feature, it performs impressively. The oven also features a much greater surface area for an equal and measured burn. The smart airflow path employed in the Pax 2 is the same as the previous model, with the mouthpiece beginning far away from the hot oven, which is usually placed at the bottom of the unit.
The isolated airflow path, smooth draws, silicone mouthpiece, and amazing technology make this one of the most attractive buys!
Temperature Settings
The Pax 2 features 4 different temperature settings as compared to the original Pax, where only 3 temperature settings were available.
The temperature settings are as follows:
360F/180C
380F/193C
400F/204C
420F/215C
With a 30-60 second heat up time, the vape does perform well with the given temperature. The first two temperatures are great for taste and light vapour, while the other two are perfect for thicker clouds and a harder hit.
Since the oven is far away from the mouthpiece, you don't experience any harsh or throat hits.
The CMO himself talked about the new heating algorithm that adjusts temperature based on how you use it, instead of the oven temperature. This allows for a more consistent and tailored draw. Moreover, the latest heating technology consumes the herb much more efficiently.

Intuitive and Smart
The Pax 2 Review remains incomplete if we do not talk about its modern and smart technology and OG comfort. The Pax 2 Vaporizer has been designed carefully to include herb efficiency, long battery life, and features that make your vaping session much smoother than before. The Lip-sensing technology, which in my opinion is the coolest thing ever, makes for a great addition.
This simple technology detects when there is no draw, and lowers the temperature in the oven to prevent over-cooking of material. (every 20 seconds your lip is not sensed the oven’s temp is reduced by 9°F). Once you put your lips on the mouthpiece again, it quickly heats the oven to produce a much more consistent draw. This dope feature not only prevents unnecessary burning of herbs but also conserves battery life.
Even the auto shut-off timer is intelligent. After 3 minutes of no movement it will shut itself off, but since there is no set timer, the feature adjusts to your session length.
If you're thinking that these smart and intuitive features come at the cost of a complicated interface, the makers of Pax took care of that too. There is a single button hidden in the mouthpiece that controls everything, and the LED light tells you everything you need to know.
A push on the button switches the vape on and off. Temperature can be changed by pressing the button for a second. The LED lights have four different colours that communicate battery level, temperature, and the current mode of the vape. You can also check the battery life and exit temp mode by simply shaking the device.
Battery Life and Charging
The Pax 2 Vaporizer takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge, and you can expect at least 90 minutes of vaping. The time may be a bit longer if you're vaping at lower temperatures, but not very significant.
The kind of adapter you're using will also affect the battery charging time. If you use the USB cable through a computer, you're looking at about 3 hours of charging time. However, a wall adapter would reduce the time to just 2 hours. They have revamped the design and it now includes a magnetic charger that attracts the contacts on the back of the unit.
The batteries of the Pax 2 Vaporizer have been made to be durable, so you can expect it to perform efficiently for quite a while. The only drawback here is that they are not replaceable.

Cleaning and Maintenance - Pax 2 Review
The original model had a tedious procedure when it came to cleaning it. The manufacturers took note of the feedback and made the cleaning & maintenance procedure excessively easy with Pax 2. You would just need some Isopropyl Alcohol (ISO), pipe cleaners, Q-tips, and cotton swabs; you are ready to make the vaporizer as good as new.
A few users have pointed out the oven needs more regular cleaning than the other parts. If you find yourself experiencing a harder draw, pop out the chamber screen, and give the oven a good scrape. This helps to clean the build-up residue and gunk, which in turn returns the original smooth draw.
How to Clean your Pax 2?
We have already mentioned what you need to clean the Pax 2 Vaporizer. Let's take a look at how you can clean the different parts.
- Cleaning the Pax 2 Body, you should use a soft wet cloth, with a little bit of alcohol. You can also use a disinfecting wipe (Scentless).
- The vapour path also needs regular cleaning, as the condensed vapour and resing left a sticky coating. Use the pipe cleaner by dipping it in isopropyl alcohol, and rubbing it down the length of the tube.
- The other vaping accessories and pieces can be cleaned by soaking them in the bowl of isopropyl alcohol for around 30 minutes, stirring it every 10 minutes or so.
- The oven screen and the mouthpiece can be cleaned by scrubbing them with cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
How to Use Pax 2 Vaporizer?
- To remove the Pax 2 screen, make use of a needle or a very thin tool that can be inserted into one of the holes. Once you attach the needle, pry the screen up. To insert a Pax 2 screen, drop the screen into the chamber and push it down with a tool until it fits perfectly into place.
- To load the Pax 2 chamber, remove the oven lid by pressing down on one side to prop it up. Use a loading tool to insert the herb in the chamber, and then reattach the oven lid. Make sure the Pax 2 chamber is cooled down before you remove the oven lid.
- To pack the Pax 2 vaporizer, use the finely ground herb to pack down the oven firmly using a loading tool. This allows for better vapourization and also better clouds.
- To Switch on the device, press the button located at the centre of the Pax 2 mouthpiece. Hold the button to activate the temperature control mode. The four temperature settings are reflected in the LED lights where 1 Petal = 360F, 2 petals = 380F, 3 petals = 400F, 4 petals = 420F.
